GS-11 SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Must possess at least 12 months of specialized experience performing regular duties in terminal operations, issuing control instructions to aircraft operating under visual or instrument flight rules or combinations of both experiences in a military or civilian as an Air Traffic Controller (ATC) in a single ATC facility-rated control tower air traffic facility initiating and issuing air traffic control clearances, instructions and advisories to ensure safe, orderly and expeditious flow of air traffic under instrument and visual flight rules conducting ATC facility training and briefing shift personnel on runway utilization, airfield conditions and weather/ground activities. GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Must possess at least one year on-the-job experience in the grade immediately below the next higher level must have education and validated understanding of the basic principles and concepts of this series and grade and experience, education, or training that demonstrates your ability to follow directions and to read, understand, and retain a variety of instructions, regulations, and procedures and that otherwise demonstrates your ability to perform or learn to perform the duties of this position. Technicians will not be militarily senior to their full-time supervisor or wage leader (grade inversion). Supervisor must verify that selected individual occupies a compatible military position. Selected candidate must be AFSC qualified within 12 months from date of appointment.
